Object Stories Poster

For the Object Stories project, I wanted to emphasise the idea of “stories” specifically, how everyday objects can carry narrative weight. My design concept centred around the visual metaphor of a container or product spilling its contents onto a surface, with the spilled content forming the words “Object Stories.”

By showing the container either broken or missing its cap, I aimed to suggest that something has happened, prompting viewers to question the scene:

How did the object spill?

Was it accidental, intentional, or symbolic

What story led to this moment?

The goal was to leave the narrative open-ended, inviting viewers to interpret the story behind the object themselves. This approach not only visually represents the title but also reinforces the idea that every object has a story to tell, sometimes hidden, sometimes disruptive, always personal.

Deliverables, Skills & Tools

I experimented with different camera angles and lighting setups to find the most effective way to highlight the narrative in the scene. I also considered the use of white space to leave room for the missing exhibition details, ensuring the composition remained balanced and functional as a poster design.

I have chosen the final image of the poster because this particular perspective makes the text “Object Stories” clear and legible, while still maintaining visual interest and storytelling impact. Also, ensuring exhibition information remains legible and unobstructive.
